Volunteer at oregon dog rescue!
*** UPDAte 10/18/2025*** At this time we are still accepting applications for volunteering however all onboarding scheduling is postponed until the new year** Our volunteer coordinator will reach out to the best fit applicants and follow up when we resume onboarding.
These are long term, permanent volunteer positions. We currently have 3 openings for positions please detail which you are applying for.
We are looking for people who don’t mind getting their hands dirty and work well in a loud fast paced environment with a passion for dogs. Our volunteer coordinator will contact the best fit for our facility via email once applications have been reviewed.
1.) Back of house monitor
Within this position you will be in one of our playrooms making sure all dogs remain cohesive and assist picking up with poop/pee as it happens. You will be trained to clean kennels, potty dogs, help with Laundry, Dishes, Sweeping/Mopping, tons of deep cleaning projects as well as bathing dogs, and helping us manage the mess from over 75+ dogs at one time.
We ask our volunteers to show up for their assigned shift on time every week.
The shifts we are looking to fill are weekly M-Sun 7-11 12-3 or 3-6
*This position requires previous experience with dogs*
2.) Flex / Puppy assistant
Within this position you will be managing our puppies waking them up, cleaning their kennels, practicing socialization and assisting elsewhere when we do not have puppies onsite. You will also be in charge of taking care of our 2 onsite cats and giving them one on one time they love.
The shifts we are looking to fill are weekly M-Sun 7-10 12-3 or 4-6

3.) CLeaning attendants
Within this position you will get the occasional dog snuggles that make it all worth it, shelter work is hard, and it is dirty! You will be trained to clean kennels, potty dogs, help with Laundry, Dishes, Sweeping/Mopping, tons of deep cleaning projects as well as bathing dogs, and helping us manage the mess from over 75+ dogs at one time. The main focus of this position is cleaning.
The shifts we are looking to fill are weekly M-Sun 7-10 12-3 or 4-6
You will be scheduled for 1 consistent day/time each week ongoing.
This position is good for people wanting to gain experience and provides opportunities to move into different volunteer positions with time.
This position does not include working one on one with dogs each day but does require you to work around them and help from time to time with bathing or cleaning up after they potty.
